Loving God First:
At Cornerstone Church in Clarion County, Pa.
Jesus taught that loving God “with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37) is the first and greatest commandment. And here at Cornerstone Church, we have a passion to follow Jesus’ teaching wholeheartedly. As a body of believers, our highest priority is to love God first in everything we do.
We practice this by:
- Reading and studying God’s Word
- Participating in worship and prayer
- Engaging in targeted ministry programs
- Practicing our faith in our everyday lives
Our desire is to include God in every facet of our lives and rely on Him for everything we need.
Salvation and discipleship through relational community
The second greatest commandment according to Christ is to “Love your neighbor as yourself” Matthew 22:39.
This is our passion at Cornerstone Church – loving God and loving one another.
And we do this by targeting the spiritual, physical, intellectual and emotional needs of people in and outside our congregation.
In real terms, we love and serve by offering discipleship ministry programs in the vital areas of:
- Adult Bible Fellowships
- Children’s Ministry
- Youth Ministry
- Life Group Ministry
- Women’s Ministry
- Celebrate Recovery Ministry
- Grief Share Ministry
We also take to heart Jesus’ charge to make disciples of all nations. It’s our goal and primary focus to see others come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. And as we share the good news of salvation, we witness changed lives in our own services and also in our various Missions Ministry outreaches.
Living out our faith together
Here at Cornerstone, we support and encourage one another through real relationships as we pursue God and serve others. Being part of a church like Cornerstone and being committed through membership helps us be accountable to God and to one another.
We know that it takes a unified body of believers to maintain a strong outreach to make disciples, and that’s why we also stress a high level of fellowship and fun right here in our own congregation.
Everyone is welcome to participate in all our various activities we strengthen bonds of friendship within our own body.

Missionaries Ogie and Kathy Abalin are committed to training Filipino nationals to lead churches in their home country – the Philippines. It is their mission to bring the church to people who live in areas where there’s no gospel being preached. The Abalin’s vision is to establish 10 churches in Orani, Bataan by the year 2020, and 6 have already been planted. Recently, Cornerstone Church presented the Abalins with a check that will cover the cost of building a 7th church in the Filipino village of Nazareno.
